One problem people have with torx is, Harley uses torx plus. They are a little beefier than the regular torx. You can get them at Sears, or any of your better tool supplier.
No Way! They are NOT Torx Plus. You would know that if You wrench on your bike, but I guess somelse does that for You.
Been turning wrenches for 20 plus years. I would rather have torx then philips head screws or standard head screws. Allen heads can and will strip just as fast as Torx if you are using the same cheap tools. But then I have more money invested in tools to pay for two scooters, easily.

What he said. Finally broke down and bought all the right tools (screw driver handle, l-wrench and socket drive) and bought professional grade, not the junk that so many people seem to rely on, and haven't had a problem since.

I learned a trick from Joe on the Dyna Forum. Before you try loosening a Torx, get a punch that's small enough to fit inside of the splines, and give it a healthy shot from a 32-oz hammer. When I've done this, I've never had a problem breaking those Goll-Durned Torx's loose.
My trick is (and I'm batting 1000) is to run the bike good and hot. Park it and use a quality T-27 on the end of a ratchet to just Loosen them.
Try this with the bike cold (like most do) and you may have problems. Let the bike cool and take the things out.
Then..... I throw those f-ers away and put stainless steel Allens in and call it a day.
No need for fancy impact deals and hammers or drills. Heat the bike up first. They come right out....
if i couldnt get them out i would pray to the lord instead of cursing him
I think you mean if i COULD get them out i would pray instead of curse
But i find this funny because i just remove all mine with no problem and i said to myself...."There is a GOD" LOL... :-)
Thats a great TIP LP....Thanks....
