Default spark plug wires

Can i ask what is the best way to change the spark plug wires on a FLHTCUI? Does the gas tank have to come off in this case?

smokintitan if it takes you a day to change spark plug wires on a big twin, then be sure to stick with your day job. just sayin. all you have to do is to loosen the rear attaching screw/bolt, whatever and block it up in the rear. this will give you access to the underside of the tank where the plug wires reside. of course, be sure to use towels to cushion the paint and chrome, that should go without having to mention though.

by the way man, welcome to the forum. lots of great information in here. all you have to do is engage your b.s. filter and you'll be just fine. you can tilt the tank upwards from the rear. be sure to not contact your steering head with the front of the tank though. it also depends on which year you're working with. some have a crossover line, i think that's prior to the bigger tanks used in 08 and newer though. the older ones do have a crossover line. and another tip. make sure you either siphon the gas into a gas can first. it might not seem like a big deal, but it's far easier when the tank is almost empty rather than full.
