Yes, it happens to the 2011s too. My Ultra with 4000 miles just crapped out on my recent ride through Oregon, Idaho and Montana. I disconnected and reconnected the wires to the throttle body a couple of times and it cleared the problem.
Apparently lightning does strike the same place twice. I previously had the broken wire problem on my RKC that I described in my earlier post in this thread.
I don't trust either bike now. Come on Harley - Fix this sh|t!
I don't understand, what was wrong with the good ole throttle cable? I don't see fbw being any cheaper so why did they change? I have a FBW bike and know it will fail sooner or later. All sensors go bad.
It won't fail any sooner than your cable would fail. TBW setups have been in cars for a VERY long time. In addition, most aircraft also use FBW.
Anyone that tells you that TBW is any less reliable than cables is delusional or just plain hates technological advances.
Riding out the other day going around 60 and the throttle just stopped and went into limp mode. Was able to ride 15 but that was it. Checking the above mentioned today, cross your fingers! I need to ride! Even Harley said 99.9% of the time it's that small wire plug/harness behind the air filter. Obviously a known flaw.
