Good day
yesterday my bike suddenly went in limped mode, i had the bike towed to the
dealer,i was on the in a big traffic and it had really scared me, the dealer said he never heard about that,i ran 20,000 Kms without problem before
but searching in the forum it seems to happen on this system
is someones knows if harley got a final fix for this problem ?
any input about a fix will help.
thank you
Picked my 2019 Electra Glide up (after accident repair & 10k service). Baby was running Great! (Apparently they did not add my concern about the bike going into limp mode 2x..b4 I got hit. They fixed everything (A1) 10k service...yet I o ly got 1/2 way home.,30 miles..I was doing 112mph..(carpool lane) & it just cut out!
I made it over..it wouldn't rev past 1000rpm. After a failed 2hr tow truck event..I limped off the busy Ca. Fwy (405) @ 10mph. For 4 miles.
that kinda spooked me! This is the 3rd time. 1st @ midnight on a friday..spoked me a little!
wtf is up? W/this fly by wire? I had it shut down & fire up, run for the whole day after only 3 mins!
that's not Heat..related? Is it?
ty guys
1) Green clip on inner bar to the TGS, known to be faulty.
2) Could be corroded conectors on the fuel mod. behind air breather easy to check.
3) Could be a broken wire just under the shieth 1/2 to 1" up from the connector on the fuel mod. behind the air breather.
4) Could be the Throttle Grip sensor.
Mine was #3, needed the HD dealer to find the short. Best of luck the Digitech will find the issue.
Mine was #1....cut the connector out and soldered the wires

ty Y22c for the reply. Today they said they pulled codes (just supports my guess that w/all I had done, somehow that check engine/my complaint..probably didn't get on the work order. This shop has been great,
(Los Angels Harley Davidson in Fullerton Ca.), if my guess is correct, it can happen.)
as in was saying..they said there was a "Throttle Position "error code. Kinda makes sense. So I guess of your 4 suggestions ... your #4 is probably correct.
We shall see tomorrow.
Thanks again for the reply/feedback. Have a gr8 night.

something i don't understand, i stop the bike and i wait some hours to let it cool and start it again and no more problem until i run it up to normal temperature.
i don't thing it can be a wire i have shake all harness and nothing happened.
you said to check the connectors on fuel mod. what fuel mod is it?
can be a TGS been intermittent causing this problem??? until now the dealer have done nothing ,he parked my bike in the garage for the weekend, will see monday, i think they have no ideas what is going on.
i have a 2008 road king and the warranty will expired june 6,if the dealer doesn't fix it before ,will they be responsible until they find the trouble even if the warranty is over ?
any input
thank you
I have the same exact problem as soon as the bike gets up to temperature it acts crazy sputtering, backing firing, and dying at idle. Have had the throttle grip sensor replaced that didnt help.
My harley has went into Limp mode twice- stranding me. The first time I took it to the dealer, I paid them to tell me there was nothing wrong. After looking into the issue this second time, I found the code to be for air pressure in the tire. After airing up the tire, the codes have reset and so far I haven't had any further issues.

solved my issue. The pins in the adapter running to the throttle body a wire was broken internally. The adapter and pin all looked good visually. But when I let the bike get up to temp and touch one of the six wires it shut the bike down every time. I tried it 20 times and every time I touched that wire it shut the bike down. So I cut all six wires soldered new wire and changed all the pins and so far I have not had that issue. I took pictures but I do not have them on this device. I figured 10 year old bike and wires a lot of heat and vibration caused the problem. But 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
