Good day
yesterday my bike suddenly went in limped mode, i had the bike towed to the
dealer,i was on the in a big traffic and it had really scared me, the dealer said he never heard about that,i ran 20,000 Kms without problem before
but searching in the forum it seems to happen on this system
is someones knows if harley got a final fix for this problem ?
any input about a fix will help.
I don't know about a fix..but the same thing happened to me. I know if turn your bike off and then turn the ignition on and off 3 times and then start your bike it will reset it and return to normal. This is not a fix but will get you home. It only happened to me once and hasn't happened again. I also now remembering the dealer saying something about a code showing a bad spark plug and they changed my plugs...no problem since.

1) Green clip on inner bar to the TGS, known to be faulty.
2) Could be corroded conectors on the fuel mod. behind air breather easy to check.
3) Could be a broken wire just under the shieth 1/2 to 1" up from the connector on the fuel mod. behind the air breather.
4) Could be the Throttle Grip sensor.
Mine was #3, needed the HD dealer to find the short. Best of luck the Digitech will find the issue.
something i don't understand, i stop the bike and i wait some hours to let it cool and start it again and no more problem until i run it up to normal temperature.
i don't thing it can be a wire i have shake all harness and nothing happened.
you said to check the connectors on fuel mod. what fuel mod is it?
can be a TGS been intermittent causing this problem??? until now the dealer have done nothing ,he parked my bike in the garage for the weekend, will see monday, i think they have no ideas what is going on.
i have a 2008 road king and the warranty will expired june 6,if the dealer doesn't fix it before ,will they be responsible until they find the trouble even if the warranty is over ?

Mine was #4 had it at the dealer twice. The second time (they told me nothing was wrong) I told them to keep riding it until it happened to them. I was able to check the code on the dash and it said I had a faulty grip sensor. I tried to tell the dealer that but they had to figure it out for them selfs.
the fuel mod. is right behind the air breather, there is a connector that has 6-7 ? wires that plugs into it. Pull the sheithing up and check the wires, mine was damaged and cuased an open circut. I checked what I could, and even that connector, if I had just checked up under the sheith I would have found it and saved $350. My scoot was 2 weeks off warranty, and clearly something that was a installation fault, and no warranty for me.
In your case if your bike sits there till july you will be covered by warranty.
the dealer replaced the throttle grip sensor , they told me that there is a
new sensor to replaced the 2008 model which are defectives , there is no recall
they will omly replace it when that occur, i told him that was a very dangerous situation
should have a recall and too bad if you are out of warranty

That's interesting.......never heard that before and I would think Dawg or someone with dealer inside knowledge could confirm.
