pulled rear wheel off took it to stealer ship had a new tire put on took off down the road and thought i heard a siren looked behind me and nothing its either the belt or tire are the dunlop d402 noisy new? could the belt be out of adjustment? we put it back the way it came off it rides and handles great
if it is tight will to tight hurt it? will the noise die down a bit i do ride 2up and plan on it in the am this is my first belt drive bike all rest were drive shaft metrics
If you don't have the tool try twisting the belt. You should be able to twist the belt 45 to 90 degrees. If you can't it is too tight.
The tension gauge isn't that expensive (H-D or other brands cost about the same) and is a good tool to have.
Did you get the spacers in right? A belt that isn't aligned properly could also make noise.
D402 on my bike always had a whine, especially when leaning left. Was louder when the tire was not correct pressure, but there at spec also. New E3 has no whine like the 402 had...
