Since joining HDForums and reading several (50 or 60) threads on how to incoporate or retro fit my garage door opener I came-up with this idea.
Here is what I did;
I purchased a power supply to add to my Ultra but could not come to grips on making a hole in my side panel. So this is what the power supply from HD looks like.
Take apart a 12V garage door opener.
Take pliers or wire cutters and squish the ends that hold the 12V battery to the garage door opener.
Solder a wire to the remote main button so it will always be on when it gets power.
Here is what the finish product looks like w/o the garage door remote cover.
Where does the remote sit? looks like it's laying on the ECM / battery.
Nice job.
I found a spot in front of the battery box and twist tied the wires so it would not move. I would have a picture but my camera will not fit in the space.
