Biketronics kits

i have a marine grade kenwood radio and i want to put it into my HD fairing its a 2009 FLHT and will the kit BT 1005 work and also what is the limitation of types of radio decks that do work with this kit

Biketronics website has a list of radio's they recommend.
I was told any radio that has the wired remoted plug would work. But that was third hand information.
