Exhaust question
I have a 2009 Road King and have Screamin Eagle slip on mufflers. There are two screws in the end of each pipe that look like they make the baffles removeable, however i cannot get them to come out. I don't want to remove them completely, just "alter" them a little. Does anyone know a: are they removeable, and b: how do you get them out? Any help would be great, I dont want to wreck them!

I had Rush slipon's on the 09 EGC I bought new in fall of 08 and sold in fall of 09, had almost 14K miles on it. The baffles were wearing out on the right side. I asked this same question. Some said you have to take the muffler's off and take a wooden dowel and drive the baffle out from the inlet end. I never tried it.

You can drift the baffles out from the input end once the screws are removed, however, because the main central baffle has a 30 degree slope you must use a drift of the right diameter, too small and it will simply get stuck as it rides up the slope. If the mufflers have been used for some time you'll need to give it a lot of wellie - protect the ends and the visible surfaces carefully whilst doing this.
