Anybody install a set of Harley-Davidson premium speakers in your Ultra Classic, Electra Glide or Street Glide? What's the sound quality like? I don't need a bunch of audio power output. I only want a better sounding speaker than the stock one's on my '09 Ultra Classic. I only need to 2 front speaker because I'll be riding without a tour pak most of the time.
I also was not looking to add and amp etc. but wanted something better than the stock speakers and decided to give the Boom Audio speakers a try.
They are better than stock and have a good sound. You'll still get some distortion if you crank it but I have no problem hearing the radio or mp3 player at highway speeds.
But since sound is subjective to everyone I would suggest maybe seeing if you can find someone local who has them and give them a listen first.
Hey Bikes, I fully admit that I don't have any experience with the HD premuim speakers, but I can say that I am very pleased with the J & M 7.25's. I got exactly what I wanted which was noticeably improved volume and sound quality without adding an amp. Anyway, they are worth looking into. I think there's a massive sticky at the top of the touring page that will give you a chance to read the good, the bad and the ugly.
My hog tunes just arrived. Will install them this week. I am just going with the speakers and no amp. I do have the tweeter pods installed.
Son, what is up with that head...ease up on the shine will you....Now you're gonna make me buy some right...Naw.... i'll just start riding behind your azz....

My Hog Tunes (rear) and the Hog Pod arrived the other day.
Installed today in buddies garage and made the ride home in the rain a little more tolerable here on the West Coast.
Thanks Pez
Sound is great with the combo on the Ultra, fade is set with one bar aft of the HD Head unit and the Tweeters actually bring more life to the music which is simply amazing.
Anyhow, I am happy and have no problem pimpin Pez and his product, but Mother Harle ...well she is another thread.
I am sure they are good speakers, but the price is where I draw the line.
Dam, did wew just hi-jack your thread bikes?
I apologize for my behavior !!
