If the oil's changed regularly, I can easily see well over 100,000 miles. I have a friend who has 120,000 miles on an '05 Ultra with a gear-driven 103. I believe he has 80k on the build. Only issue he's had is with stators.

I thought the "scalded cat" comment was kind of funny as well.

I've seen two TC88 engines with >50k miles that had no measurable wear on the cylinders, pistons, or valvetrain. Another friend with a TC88 has almost 100k and all he's done is have the tensioners changed at 70k. Here's my take on this:

Evo: Easily a 100k or greater motor. Weakness is base gaskets. No problems with mine, though, at 106k.

TC88/95: Also a 100k or greater motor. Weakness is cam-chain tensioners that should be inspected every 25k or so.

TC96/103/110: About a year ago I quizzed Digger53 about his '07 with >100k on the clock. Here's his report at that time:

50k: Repl. sprocket gear seal in primary.

80k: Clutch disks

81k: Oil filter showed two small pieces of plastic. Primary cam-tensioner showed slight wear, secondary like new--replaced both.

83.5k: Repl. stator because of leak around plug. Also repl. inner-primary mainshaft bearing.

90k: Repl. tranny compensator assy. I'm not sure what this is.

Also, he reported that every 25k or so the Y-pipe would break, replaced three times. It sounds like the bike was very reliable up to 80k, then required some minor repairs thereafter, mostly minor.

Harley expects their 96ers to last over 150K with good care. my 08 has 31K and runs smmmooootttthhh as glass at 85 curse control . doesn't burn a drop of oil, no leaks and strong as heck on the freeway.

i was coming back from a ride with my HOG Chapter last week and heading down the freeway with my feet up on the pegs, XM Radio loud in my ear and i too was thinking, man this scooter runs great!
