oil temp gauge

oil temp gauge

Has any one tried to use a automotive type oil temp gauge. .the type that has the metal tube? Will it work?

Should work if installed properly .. I went with the Harley Oil Temp Gauge as knew it would fit right in place with the useless Air Temp Gauge .. Plus like the fact it goes to 350 degrees instead of 300 like many automotive styles.. Like keeping track of the Oil Temp under different riding conditions ..

I am not sure I would like the "tube" style running under my bike. It seems like it would be too much of an opportunity for problems. I realize that it would not be oil in the tube for a temperature guage, but I still would worry. If going to an automotive guage I would say to use the electrical design that uses a ground to provide the signal to the meter.
