Haven't seen this mentioned. 2010 Streetglide with J&M amp and speakers. When I listen to the CD and turn the bike off, then start it again the radio goes to AM. If I turn the radio off before turning the bike off, start the bike and then turn on the radio, the radio starts with the CD where I left off no problem. Asked the dealer to do a radio update, but it didn't help. Any easy fix out there?
Just got a call from Iron Cross on my radio. Same issue as many where speakers started cutting out and I would turn off and back on and it would play for a while. The board had vibration damage. Maria from Iron cross said the risor bolts were hitting bottom of radio . Harley has new bolts for this issue for all 2006 and up. Part # 12600003. Need 2 packages todo all 4 bolts. My radio will be back in less then a week. Great service from Iron Cross.

That is good to hear! My radio is doing the same thing. I just switch my speaker toggle dash switch and I can usually get the sound back. I find mine is RPM related too - 1600 to 1800 and it will cut out. On the highway above 1800 and it's rock solid and stays on as well as below that rpm range.
What pains me more is that I just had my faring apart last weekend to do the speaker polyfill mod. When I had it apart I removed the HK radio. I inspected the bottom of the case. My bolts are not touching the case. And there is no rub mark or scratches on the bottom of the case. I can see a clearance between the bottom of the case and those bolts mentioned that should be replaced. I will replace the 4 when I send the radio at the end of the PA riding season.
AND my radio mounts are not cracked or busted either...I inspected them too.
I also had the radio apart - as far as it would allow me to see if there was any obvious cracks or else. I removed the top cover and saw inside. I can see there is a LOT of empty space in that radio and I have no crust/rust or water inside. All my modular connectors looked fine as well as the mainboard. OF course there is something flakey in this unit or I'd not have the SAME issues everyone else describes. All reassembled and it works just the same in the dead RPM ranges and cuts out.
So IC will get my radio at the end of the season for their fix. Who knows I may even have them put the aux jack in the back of the unit too so I can plug in my ipod since once they have the radio and you having it fixed it's a small fee to add it. Glad they have a great rep and know the internals of this system.
Still makes me mad this system is such crap. NO way should this even be an issue - but poor design and sloppy 1/2 arsed mounting.
i was wondering if this radio will fit 05 and older. i heard that it would that the sefl leveling volume just wouldnt work . i just wanted to ask around.
Direct plug in to all Non-Ultra bikes to '98
04 and 05 AVC can be reprogrammed by user after install
03 and older need radio re-flashed for AVC to work (everything else will work)
My Harman Kardon player plays fine when the engine is off in accessory position but once the engine is running then static, interference etc. Speakers fine as they work great when the engine is off and checked connections. Wondering if any riders have had this problem? thanks in advance.
2011 FLTRU....
When I started out on a ride this morning, Turned up the tunes and got a " Radio Not Calibrated" message. Radio works ok...Intercom works ok...CB works ok ...BUT about every 30 to 40 seconds the radio goes BEEP 3 times and resumes playing just fine. Does anyone know if this is a major deal or is it just a reflash needed to be done by the dealer?
Thanks
Usually just requires a reflash.
A great percentage of the time we see this, it's usually caused by liquid damage to the ST10 processor.
If it reoccures after the re-flash, the processor (radio) will need to be addressed.
Would someone PM me the problem. I saw a post where a guy had the same problem i'm having. Trouble is, i'm not sure if he ever got an answer. When I can get my switch to change to FM, it quickly changes back to the weather channel. Can someone PLEASE send me a PM with the problem. Thank you.
