Hi guys... Quick question. When my girl and I ride anything over 120 miles, we both get severe lower back pain. I'm 5'10 and while I'm not reaching for the bars, they're also not right there for me. My girl says a backrest with me adjusting the pegs down will help her. I'm thinking the Harley pushback bars to fix my issue.
What do you guys think? And what's the tallest passenger backrest out there?
I installed Wild-1 517s on Hester. They have an excellent reach and after thousands of miles, they're perfect and the stock cables will fit. Pics here.
I have a detachable kit and use this back rest when I have a passenger and the Tour Pak isn't on:
Thank you. How does your passenger like that "standard" seat? And what all do you buy, it's confusing? You buy the "mounting kit", the "standard height" bar *and* the "smooth" pad or whatever pad you want?
I don't like the wrist angle on the 517's, ridden a bike with them and it reminded me of a Kawasaki KZ1000, can't get used to it.

Moco makes it a pain in the a$$ to order backrests. Maybe it's because they offer so many options. You have to order the bar and the pad separately. I oredered the one that matched the stock seat. I had Mean City Cycles do a double decker mod on the stock seat. I wanted a C&C Customs seat. Had one on my Wide Glide and loved it. The said they're too busy and won't make the wider passenger pillon for their solo seat, so I'm sticking with the stock seat with the MCC mod.
As for the bars, like any mod, they take getting used to. I suppose anything beat the stock bars unless you have monkey arms. I ride hundreds of miles weekly and couldn't take the hunched over riding position. Many here recommend the Heritage bars. I love the 517 arm position.
