'08 Ultra w/stage 1 kit
Recently took my '08 Ultra Classic to the local HD dealer to have a stage 1 kit installed. The installed Vance Hines slipons & Big Sucker filter. They also installed a TFI Electric Jet Kit and did a dyno. I am wondering if this Jet Kit was necessary? Tried to ask the person in the service department but just got vague answers. How will this affect my performance and mileage?

It's just a different name for a fuel management system. Dobek calls it a TFI electronic jet kit. It wouldn't have been my choice for a fuel management system, but yes it is needed for your modifications.

For the Stage 1 the TFI is the best fuel management system to go with. All the TFI is capable of is adding fuel so it's perfect as long as you arent going any further than Stage 1. It's a piggy back system that requires no computer or dealer to adjust and Dobeck's customer service is second to none. You gotta try it to believe how well it works.
