I have an 05 ultra with a 95" kit, SE filter and V&H Oval slip ons.
It was recently tuned using the latest SE Tuner.
I'm about as far from being a mechanic as you can get. With the exception of changing my own fluids and putting on some chrome. What I want is more power/torque below 4000 RPM's. I do a lot of 2 up riding. From what little knowledge I have and what I've read I'm thinkg of the SE 255's.
What do you folks think of the 255's on my setup. Oh... I don't want the bike to get
much louder either. A little louder is okay, but not too much.
I could be wrong but I don't think the 255's will work in your bike because the journals in your motor are too small… I think. On top of that, I would assume your motor has too much compression for that particular set of cams. Try using the search function and you'll probably find a lot of info on this as the 95" motor has been around for a while now. Sorry I can't help more. I'm sure other will chime in and let you know for sure.
I think (might be mistaken) that the 255s will not work in your bike due to a) different cam plate/chain/tensioner design and b) different inner bearing diameter.
There are many cams out there from Andrews (26), Wood (6-6), Headquarters (0034), etc to choose from and that will put a redesigned smile on your face. You might consider getting your heads worked while you are at it too. Just something to consider if you are wanting to work that low end torque out of that motor.
I don't believe any cams from a 96 will fit in an 88 based motor. But I might be wrong. Check with Click,Atrain or Dawg to be sure. Even Jamie @ FuelMoto would be good to talk to.

I don't even know what compression is ;-) The cams are the ones that came in the bike.
The only reason I was thinking 255's was that they provide the power below 4000 rpm's.
Honestly, I don't think I"ve ever ridden the bike above 4,000 rpms.
I have an 05 classic also with the 95" kit. I started out with the SE211's but just like you I never ride above 4000 rpm's. and most of the power from the 211's is higher up in the rev range. They do have an awesome lope at idle though. This year i changed the cams to Andrews 21's gear drive. they moved the power to just where i use it. I think they are a good choice for 2 up riding plenty of low torque
