Default Lifter clarification.

Im installing some SE adjustable pushrods and I need some clarification on which lifter is the intake and exhaust lifter. From what I can tell from the manual, the one on the inside of the front cylinder is the intake, and the outside is the exhaust, but my Clymer manual is stretchy as to the rear. Is it opposite or the same as the front?

Thanks.

The outboard lifters are exhaust. Inboard are intake.

Or.... the ones closest to the exhaust pipes are exhaust...helps me remember.
