After my old ratty SE Touring muffs slipped off a few times, I decided that it was an omen. It was time to break down and buy a new system for Pickles. I've always been partial to 2-1 pipes and SuperTrapp pipes so.........
I ordered a Supermeg from Kustom Emporium on Ebay. Great folks to deal with. I called to order and they even sweetened the deal more. It will be shipped to my door for less than $ix bills.
It's only taken me about 2-3 months of agonizing to make this decision. Next up: cams only or 103???? But hey..... that's a winter project, I have lots of time to change my mind.
I've got the SE 103, stock cam and the Supertrapp 2:1 on my 07. I had originally thought I was going to put in a cam as funds came available but decided it was running perfect (for my riding style) so why mess with it. The first time in forty years for that particular thought.
If you want good power without waking the dead you'll like the Supermeg.
I really like the look of the supermeg, and if it doesn't sound like the drag pipes on my old shovel that is a good thing. People seem to be getting less and less tolerant of noisy pipes. Amazing, isn't it we are supposed to be tolerant of everyone else, but damn those noisy bikers! I have Python slip on mufflers on my Road King and have had people tell me they are way too loud. I always try to be considerate when I ride, too. It is a bid loud but not as much as some.
How do the Supermegs hold up over time? Any bluing on the muffler, or chrome problems?
Are there any other 2-1 pipes that are quieter as well?
I've got the Supermegs on my Ultra and I love them! They sound unique and so far they've held up great. Had it for 2 years now and no problems. I put them on, did the air cleaner, SEST, 211 cams, and had it dyno tuned. Gained 26 hp and 12 ft lbs of torque.
I just got my new supermeg yesterday,I was going to go with the supermeg last year when I first built my hq113 instead I cheaped out and bought the propipe bp which was $200.00 cheaper this was a mistake because it sounded like **** on my high compression 113 motor,it was real blatty and I could never get it to stop decel poping no matter what gaskets I used or tuning performed, performance was good though, back to the supermeg it came yesterday morning and I took my time installing it ,there was a couple of marks on the muffler one was a slight dent but not real noticeable still kind of pissed me off as it cost me $875.00 CDN shipped, any way the install was a breeze as everything fit up real nice, put the JD'S Cycle tune in it with my TTS mastertune that I had for the propipe, installed the whole 20 discs and closed end cap that came with it,it fired right up and sounds excellent .I was out for a long ride this morning and the bike runs great and pulls real hard with absolutely no decel pop ,real nice pipe you are going to like it for sure.
