Default Need advice

I did a 103 build with woods tw7h cams, some head work but didn't put in compression releases. getting bad starter kick back because of it. so here is the question. I'm taking the heads off to do the compression releases and going to go with a 575 or 577 red shift cam. The woods cam is nice but hits late (needs more compression then the 10:1 I have) and doesn't hold as long. do I go compression 10.5 pistons and leave the 103 or spend the extra $300 and do a 107. I'm getting 108 tq and 96 hp not bad numbers, but i'm taking it down for the releases anyways. Or does anyone know what kind of numbers I can get just with the cams.
Side note buddy who has done a couple of builds is helping me do the work, or should I say I do the work he makes sure I don't F up. before I bought this Ultra in 08 the only thing I took off a bike was the gas cap, my ignorance is great my thirst for knowledge is greater

You might as well go 107". If you plan on going to HC pistons you are going to have to fit the new pistons to the bore anyways and you have cylinder thickness left for the boring of the new pistons with your current cylinders. Are those cams suited for high compression? My opinion is based on only going to the 107" bore as I am not familar with the Redshift cams.

If you have flattop pistons in your 103 and you're putting in Redshift cams, use the 577's. The 575's are for 96's or 103/110's with dished pistons. I run the 575's.

I don't see a whole lot of difference between the Woods 7 and the Redshift 575. The 577 would definitely stay in longer, but it's not going to come on any earlier than the Woods 7 or the 575. Do you have a dyno sheet you could post? I'm a little curious. That Woods cam should be a very good performer in your application, which make me wonder about the tune. The peak figures don't really help all that much without seeing the context they are pulled from.

Also interested in seeing the dyno sheet as I just put my 107 together with a Wood TW7h; seems to get on the cams just under 3k. 10:1 CR with Rinehart TD's
