the tri bar lite is plug and play follow the wiring from the lite and u should find the plug. un plug it and plug the new one in tie wrap it and your done. the plug should be behind the left side cover. good luck.
I'm looking at this upgrade. How much of a P.I.T.A. is it to install?
The Tri Bar was easy. Two connections and two torx screws just like the others said. Problem was the light I purchased was defective, so I had to send it back. Waiting on the new one.
The Air Wing Rack light was fairly simple also. You just need a small wire crimping tool to install the connector once you run the wire in the rack. Start to finish it was a 1 beer job ( 30 minutes ).
Change out all of the signal lights to leds. Badlands makes a great "plug and play" led kit with the load equalizer. Also, change out the tri-bar light at the bottom of the fender for the run/brake tri-bar light from HD http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US
I put in the HD run/turn/brake kit in. Having the turn signals light up with the brake light makes a big difference. Also, I put in an LED bulb from superbrightled that brightened up the tail light. The bulb I got is the 25 led version with a few leds on the back of the bulb to light up the reflector inside the brake light case.
I have nothing against brightasslights. I really want one of their BAL kits, but they are crazy overpriced. That's JMHO. No offense to BAL. If the price comes down, then maybe I'll buy one. There are better upgrades to spend that kind of money on.
I'm with hoethree on this one, guessin it must be an 2010 model. If ur that worried bout it then maybe you should be rethinking the purchase.
Hoethree was confused about a previous post so now you are. We were just discussing brightening up the rear of the 2010 Street. The Tribar Kit will do it. My wife just wanted a little more light. Nobody worried here. She picks it up next week.

Hey atrain... did you use HD PN 69462-06B? I see that it works, just doesn't meet DOT requirements.
Is that the kit you selected? I was thinking about using it and seeing if the cops ever objected
In my opinion it SHOULD be against DOT regulations to leave the taillight off!! I don't know how they got away with that one. Just another way to save money and hose the customer.
Wow,, are you for real? You think they just did that to "Save money" and "hose the customer"? And not to make them look INCREDIBLE and stand out from the rest of the tourers? I think it looks great with the clean fender, I think they are just as visible, have you ever followed one? I have in my car for several miles, very noticeable and functional.
If I wanted more light on the rear, I would do the LED lower fender tail brake conversion, and maybe try to incorporate some LED bars in the fender facias next to the bags.
But for now I think they look fine.
i have a 2010 s/g i intalled custom dynamics leds in the rear of my bike they sell a kit with the load eq.and i have the fender brake light and the h.d led lid spoilers.my freinds i ride with say its very bright, day or nite.the leds are plug and play.the lid spoiler leds are a lil tricky but not hard to install
Get a set of led lights and load equalizer from Badlands. I also changed out the lenses for the smoked for looks. I've been told that the leds are MUCH brighter, even in direct sunlight compared to stock. I've also got the triple bar led run/brake upgrade (instead of stock run light only).
