I had the Harley MP3 player installed when I bought my '05 Ultra .... the instructions that came with the unit really suck, but I was able to load tons of tunes on the chip that was included.
Here's my problem .... no volume! Even with the volume set at MAX, the MP3 volume isn't even close to what the FM, CD, etc. are. Even when I play the tunes from the MP3 player into my helmet headset I have trouble hearing it ... maybe I got hosed on this purchase?
I am a little out of my area here but how are you ripping your .mp3 files? What software do you use - It could be something with your files. If you want to test, shoot me a PM with your email addess and I will send you a file or two that I have the volume set up a little hotter - Sorry if I am way off base but it's possible that is the problem
It has to be the way you downloaded your files. Same thing can happen when you burn a CD. I have lots of friends who have the MP3 player and love it, including my HD Dealer.
I had already ripped the music from the CD to my Windows Media Player Library at the highest possible quality. (WMA files)
The manual states that you can "Drag/drop or copy/paste the desired files to the SD Card" .... this is exactly what I did. So, apparently I have done everything according to their manual.
This morning I noticed in the INSTALLATION guide that the troubleshooting part says that if the "volume is to quiet" that you should "change the volume selector switch on the back of the player from B (default) to A.
Unless you guys can give me other ideas, I guess this would be the next logical step.
