I'm looking for a set of shoe rain covers that are not rubber, not boots, are flexible (nylon or polyester), yet strong enough not to tear when worn. Any ideas?
I bought a pair of rain gators from www.chromeworld.com for $20 a pair. Although this site caters to the Gold Wing people, these gators are reasonable and worked well for me in the past. These also made of Nylon and fold flat for storage with not in use. The best $20 you can spend to protect your boots and pant legs.

I know you don't want rubber, but I've had outstanding luck with Totes. Not the motorcyclist ones, which I've ripped trying to put over my boots, but the ones with a zipper on the side. Go to a store that sells them and wear your normal riding shoes/boots to try them on.
Exigent makes a pair that have no sole. The toe part will flip up when you walk and they have a stirrup in the back. Used them on the ride to Sturgis and they worked great (until I forgot to flip them up and walked on them ).
