My 08 EG had Super Trapp SE's. I kind of liked them. Not to loud but a little rumble, I also liked the interchangeable tips. Now I'm getting a 2010 Classic. I hear the cat., which I will be leaving on, will restrict the volume noticeably. So I'm trying to decide with going with Super Trapps again or something a bit lounder like maybe rush??
Will the 10 be noticeably quieter because of cat.? What slip on might give me that radio friendly low rumble, Super Trapp SE again or something else?
My '10 FLHR seems to have a bit more rumble than my '09 did. Even my daughter asked me if I already changed the pipes, but it's all still stock.
Wow, maybe someone else will chime in. I figured and read the cat. was so restrictave that it might quiet the bike. I hope not. The Supertrapps were just about right, wouldn't want them quieter though.
I recently did a comparison on my Street Glide between the RC-Xhaust Slip-on and the Freedom Performance Racing Slip-on. I thought they were both great pipes in terms of quality and sound. Both provided a great rumble both at idle and under throttle.
I ultimately went with the RC-Xhaust because I wanted the loudness and don't really care about the radio. With that, I think the Freedom would be an excellent choice and it's very affordable.
