Default 2010 Limited Initial Thoughts

Picked up my new 10 Limited Friday afternoon. Only got to put 250 or so miles on over the weekend but they were very pleasurable. I haven't been able to push her yet because I'm under the 500 mile mark but I'm still pretty impressed with the power from the stock 103. I'm looking forward to getting Fuel Moto's stage 1 stuff put on to see what she'll do.

Pros so far: Love the 103, titanium guages, stock seat. The lip inside the fuel spout is different than on my 09. It seemed to take the fuel better without little droplets coming back out on the tank. It's got slits in it now rather than being solid.

Cons: I like the colors although the black does look dirty quicker (of course we all knew that). I also went to a biker bash and saw three other ones exactly like mine, that never happened with my root beer 09. I kind of miss the 5th gear whine. I always knew when I was in 5th gear.

All in all, I'm pretty happy and I think once I get the extras put on I'll be estatic.

I really don't use 6th gear unless I am on the high way and planning on doing 70 and above. But in a round about way, I may stay at 3 thousand RPM's in 3rd, 4th, and 5th, depending on the speed.

Yea, I've been keeping her under 3000 RPMs but I've had her in 6th a few times on the highway, never until 70mph though.

You will really like it once you've got the stage I kit installed. The 103 motor has a ton of potential, but is completely neutered in stock form.

I agree with you on the colors, I had the 97 Ultra dark green and black, never saw another one like it. I've already seen three of the Blue on Black in the KC area already.
I have just over 4k mi on mine now, and I love it! Plenty of power, love the brakes, and I like the oiler cooler on these hot days.
I do have a concern about the gas tank though...it seems I get more splash back now than I used to during filling, my only guess is that it has to be the fuel system that's inside the tank.

Other than being forced to choose from only two tone colors, I like everything else about the bike except for the stock seat. It wasn't until I took the bike on a 2400 mile trip that I realized how bad the seat was. After a couple of hours, it was like sitting on plywood. My buddy had a new limited also and had the same complaint. We both had Ultras previously so we know how comfortable a seat can be. I heard HD has since replaced the seat on newer Limiteds but don't know first hand if it's any better.

Yep, I got one of the newer seats because it's TONS more comfy than the stock seat was on my 2009 Ultra.

Yep, kind of a bummer right now, but after I get the extra stuff I want on her, she'll stand out again. And if I want to be different, I can always ride the King. I just don't see many of the turquoise and creme ones around. Went to fayetteville last year and didn't see any of them at all.

Is the seat your talking about the same one that now comes on the newer Limiteds? I've been wanting to hear some feedback on it so I don't make the mistake of buying another seat from HD that sucks.

Yes, I'm told they changed the seat design mid-year on these. I really like the new seat so far. I was never impressed with the stock seat on my 2009 Ultra. My wife likes it also.
