Default Two-up shocks

What are thoughts for a better shock than the stock air shocks for two up? Me at 250 and her at 150 is a whopping 400 on the seats. (She needs to get a boob reduction -- LOL )

Your weight and passenger weight is taken into account when they're built. I've got several thousand miles on mine and couldn't be happier.

05Train is a ricor man and I like Ohlins. Both are set up per your weight, and with either one you are going to get a big improvement over the pieces of junk that came with the bike.

I run Progressive 412s with Heavy Duty springs. I am 285# Wife is 150# they work great. We ride two up all over the place. I had the 440s on my last bagger and these work as well or better.

HDF sponsor Howard at Motorcycle Metal will custom build you a pair of Ohlins and may still give HDF members a discount. Give him a call.

Sig pic is of my Ohlins taking a rest in France!

I and my wife are the same size as you both. ANYTHING is better than the crap stock shocks. I just picked up a cheap pair of Progressives from the classifieds here ($100) and they are a huge improvement. I'm sure there are better options, but for about $400 or so.

Suspension Technologies is a great non-air shock to go with as they are custom built for each bike. Give them your riding specs (type of riding you do most, weight load, etc.) and they will custom build a shock to meet those needs. Each shock is also dyno'd to ensure that they perform as they say they will. The guy who owns the company has a racing background building shocks for Penske so he definitely knows what he is doing.

Also, if you are not happy with them for any reason, simply return and they will either rebuild them for you or refund the money.

They aren't very expensive either...$490-$545 depending on the length and color options you choose.

Good luck in your search!

I will be placing a set of Progressive 440's on the market in about a week. They have been on a 2006 Ultra Classic for about 2 months. A little too stiff for me. When riding 2 up they are great. However, solo they are a bit stiff. I only weigh about 180 and my lady weighs about 130. Will be asking $250 plus shipping.

I had the Progressive 440HD on my 97 RK, they were great, but had to run them on the softest setting. I was ok on the bike, but anyone under 200 that rode it got bounced around.

+1 on the Ohlins. Give Howard a call. My wife is very, very happy with the new shocks. No more of the bone rattling hits from the stock airshocks.
