Touching down is fine - on my Road King it happens less because I'm more chilled out and only happens when I've got the wife on the back altho' she's not heavy so makes little difference. My Dyna has more clearance/lean angle but will get the pipe on the ground solo but I ride that more enthusiastically - 2 up it's a piece of p!ss - I spend more time trying not to. Also hang off more. Run out of tire before it gets too "grindy".
Even Harley expect us to touch down - that's why they put the hero pegs on the current models - they are on the foldy bits - it's to let you know because the next bit is something more solid which they worry may carry a lawsuit. So the inference is that they expect these bikes to touch down and they need to help you manage it.
Not touching down? Wow - it must be like living in slo-mo.
I'm sorry, what was the question? I couldn't stop watching Road Ranger's avatar! Nice! Anyway, I enjoy scrapping and found that after I threw on the apes I had tons more control and was able to throw the bike deeper into turns especially at slower speeds... It use to make me pucker but I really like to hear the boards scrape now!
I couldn't scrape my boards on a bet. First thing to touch down on the right is the muffler, first thing on the left is the side stand. Really odd, since I have 1" Soos floorboard extensions.
Haven't scraped my pegs yet....Still feeling the scooter out. That 21" front tire spookes me a little during hard turns, a work in progress as I get more comfortable with it. 2500 miles so far. Used to scrape my metric bikes alot, but the chrome didn't cost as much either

You guys scraping boards lower your bikes?
I was wondering that too, mine is lowered 2" in the back and I have been over far enough that I was sure my pipes were gonna scrape but I still had about 2" between the boards and the road.
i took my dad's buddies 03 SE duece out once...key word.... and we were tearin up a nice road we ride alot in PA and i was keeping up with my dad on his ultra and the guy who owns the bike was on his RK behind me. i had it leaned way over and heard it scrape. i thought it was the foot peg. got to the top of the mtn and looked around, i scrapped the bottom exhaust pipe haha. he never let me ride his trophy winning show bike again ive scrapped the boards on my dads ultra with a passenger and ive done it on my road king with and with one. no big deal. wear it down until it wont scrape anymore haha.
