On my 98 Ultra (lowered) scraped all the time. Floorboards and the downturned pipes. Highsided on the kickstand to, that was scary.

The 08, scraped floorboards in the mountains.

The 09, we'll see in a few weeks when I get to the mountains for 5 days. Just passing thru a couple weeks ago, never scraped that I remember.

Only the left one for some reason. I try to scrape more and more off each time until I fall over. Then I will stop.

I gave that up, don't have enough ***** for that anymore. But I do like crack'in er up over 100mph when I have a straight shot when making a pass once in a while. Kinda like sex when you get older, You give up on the theatactrics and acrobatic stuff and go for for it straight-n-hard !

Its not really scraping until you either have to replace the floorboards, or until you've ground the brackets off.

riding 2-up doesn't count, things touch to easy. The 09 and up bikes handle pretty good, you have to ride a little aggesive to start scraping. And yea I do scape on good roads not in the city

I should have mentioned that I also welded Toyota head bolt under my boards as scrapers when I realized I was gonna run out of footrest fast!
And you're right about 2up - I always have to remind myself to take it easier with the lady on back or when we're camping. It really digs in then.

First time I did it, it scared the hell out of me. Now I just grin and look to transition into the next turn.

While the Harley floorboards do fold up some, the brackets do not. Should/If/When the brackets catch, you may get violently thrown off the bike. All it takes is one bit of unforgiving road for that to happen.

I may have mentioned about the motorcop I know who has an artifical hip due to dragging boards. Making a u-turn on the street on patrol, his board caught and tossed him right off. Once the board caught there was nothing he could have done about it.

Board dragging is a good exposure and familiarization skill, but I don't recommend it as a daily habit. Having said that, folks are gonna do exactly what they are gonna do, and for somefolks sometimes it takes getting tossed. Modern medicine is great as now days we can replace damn near every part in our body. But me, I like my own body parts and am in no rush to break 'em and replace 'em.
