I had the dealer put in the built in XM module on my 09 Road Glide and brought it home and when XM turned on my service I have full signal and the stations display correctly but I have no audio. I tried all three positions on the speaker switch and even tried listening through the headset. The FM and other modes work just fine. I called the dealer first thing this morning and the service manager said he'd get back to me when he could ask a tech. I'm leaving on a trip in a couple of days and hope they figure this out or I will be seriously pissed. I can't believe the tech didn't check this before it left the shop because you can get the preview channel at least to check if the unit is working. I should have checked it myself before I left the dealer. Any ideas??

I wouldn't touch it, it's under warranty and it's their frigup...bring it back to them and let them have at it!
There is only one volume setting for all the non-CB modes. It is the same setting as for FM. If the poster has good volume on FM, that should be OK for XM too.
Please let us know what the problem was when you get it worked out. I have had XM on my Street Glide for several months now. It has worked perfectly ever since I had it installed. But then a couple of weeks ago when I was leaving on a week long ride, it stopped working. I had just had the J & M Amp installed, and I thought maybe something relating to that installation was the problem. Then all of a sudden, the XM radio was working again. It continued to work except for one other brief interruption again on the same trip. Ever since then, I haven't had another problem; and I have yet to figure out what caused the previous outages.
I have a XM antenna connected to my Kenwood deck. I had a couple instances where the XM power supply needed to be reset. I now have a small toggle switch near lower fork tubes to switch off/on if it happens again (hasn't). troop
More than likely it's in the wire harness they had to add. Probally got it plugged in to the wrong connecter.
Mine did the same thing as yours after the dealer installed my inner fairing. Tech said there was no way it can be hooked up incorrectly. I said it worked fine when I brought it in and it isn't working now. The serice manager told him to look at it anyway and yes he plugged it into a wrong plug.
Take it back, it should be a simple fix if your volume works on the radio and CDs
I know its aggrevating when you pay someone good money to install a product and they dont even test it to see if its working properly. I agree with most, if the volume works on FM and the signal strength shows 3 bars, it is either a bad unit or plugged into the wrong plug. The wiring harness they have to add has several plugs for different options. If the tech didnt care enough to check his work, he probably didnt care enough to make sure he plugged it into the proper harness.
