Well found an 06 RG that was silver, not really the color i was wanting but its over $1000 cheaper than the 07's are. Is there much difference between the 2 except for the motor & tranny.

Hell you'll take a bigger hit in book value than 1k.For all practical purposes the '06 is a year old.I don't think that's a big enough difference to buy an '06 instead of '07.But it's your money and only you can make that decision.

I am also considering a road glide but for 1K difference of a 06 vs. 07 and being the wrong color, I would easily go for the 07. I am not sure what the 96 and the six speed would cost you to add to the 06 but I am sure it is more than 3K and you still have an 06. I also like the stripes on the 07 better than the 06. In this area there are not many 07's at the dealers yet as they are comming in in October or November so I have only seen the orange one but it was nice.

Only a grand? Most dealers will drop 2k easy on a leftover 06, Id buy the 07 if its not a steal on the 06, but here is the kicker, my dealer sold me my 07 roadglide(due in sept) for a little over a grand under MSRP, So you might want to shop around. Also, the roadglide is considered the dog of all the harley touring models buy the dealers cause they dont tend to jump out of the showroom as fast as the others, but HD requires they take so many, some dealers will really deal on these to move them out.

Dogs of the Harley touring line? That subject has been debated here many times and I'm sure most RG owners would disagree. I don't know where you are but in So. California they can't get enough Road Glides to sell .. they are very popular here. Just my .02 cents.

I guess that's why I'm having to wait for my '07....Can you say 4 to 6 weeks. Good thing they're dogs or I'd never get to see mine. LOL
