Default RE: 06 or 07 Roadglide

I have a 06 Road Glide that I bought in March. Looking at $1000 difference…I would have jumped on the 07 if this was my decision. I love the 06 and don't see trading it in the next 3-4 year at a minimum. Consider this....

95" Stage II from Harley is $1049 plus 5-6 hours labor for a total of $1399
6-speed gear set is $1999 plus 4.6 hours labor at $70 an hour for a total of $2321
EFI update..... $149 or $280+ if you choose PCIII or other fuel management

This doesn't include all the other little install parts necessary (cam spacers...etc) you have to purchase.

Now take that $1000 for the color you want....over 5 years at 7% interest....that's $19.80 extra a month. So give up a couple fast food trips a month.

I really don't see were there is a hard decision here. Just add the Stage I cleaner ($140), Street performance mufflers ($399), and download ($149) at pickup so it's included in the 2 year warranty of the bike. Or better yet, do the Stage I upgrade to the 103" for $689 plus labor, download, and new mufflers. The Stage I 103" for the 2006 would run you $2,995.95 plus labor.

SO QUIT STARING AT THIS FORUM AND RUN OUT AND BUY THAT 2007 FIRE RED PEARL ROAD GLIDE!!! [sm=dontgetit.gif]

Ride Safe

Only a grand? Most dealers will drop 2k easy on a leftover 06, Id buy the 07 if its not a steal on the 06, but here is the kicker, my dealer sold me my 07 roadglide(due in sept) for a little over a grand under MSRP, So you might want to shop around. Also, the roadglide is considered the dog of all the harley touring models buy the dealers cause they dont tend to jump out of the showroom as fast as the others, but HD requires they take so many, some dealers will really deal on these to move them out.
Evidently your cheese has slipped off your cracker. Most dealers special order FLHTC units due to the price-point just below the Ultra. The Ultra is the hands-down sales leader of the touring family and the RoadGlide has an extremely loyal and growing following. I'd say you got a wonderful deal on yours..............who was your dealer? Next time around I'd like to talk with him.....say in '08. It's kinda odd, but some models sell before they hit the floor in some parts of the country, while in others, they languish a bit. V-rods don't sell well here, and I guess they fly off the floor in California and the Right Coast.

I LOVE my old "Dog" and she loves Mr. Wonderful.

Well found an 06 RG that was silver, not really the color i was wanting but its over $1000 cheaper than the 07's are. Is there much difference between the 2 except for the motor & tranny.
I was faced with the same problem. Several weeks ago, I was debating between the street glide and road glide. After renting both bikes I decided on the road glide.

In Southern California there were a few dealerships that had left over 2006 road glides for $1,500 off of the MSRP. After speaking with my better half (wife of 20 years), she told me to go with the 2007. Reason being, none of the left over 2006's road glide colors appealed to me. On a performacne note, you can just bolt on the 103 engine upgrade to the 2007.

As of yesterday I left a deposit on a 2007 road glide in pewter pearl. It has a ship date of September 29th. On a different note, when viewing the color options on the HD web site for their bikes, the colors are not represented very well. When I finally saw pewter pearl in person I really like the color in the sunlight. On the web site, the color looks dull and flat.
