So 2 weeks ago I jumped into a cab...and thinking I'd be all romantic and stuff, thought I'd leap in right next to my date on the "bench seat" in this van Taxi.
Well, this particular van Taxi had two BUCKET seats instead of a bench...and I smoothly pounded directly between them right onto the seat belt mounts...unreal.
I have a 1200+ mile trip coming up next week and it still hurts like a bear to sit in the saddle...Tailbone area only...but pretty bad.
Not enough time to get the SUNDOWNER seat modified with a gel insert...so I guess I am going to need to resort to a pad/cover of some kind.
Any input for one that might be best for a Tailbone injury? The Sundowner already puts me a little more forward than I really like (compared to my C&C), but I gotta do something! Maybe there are all about the same? Thought I'd ask.
might look at getting one of those air pads that sit on top of the saddle or one with gel and sheepskin covering. might not have enough time to get it though. tailbone pain sucks....i haven't found anything to cure mine after i ride about 1.5 hrs. hurts like hell. good luck!
When I had a bone spur on the tip of my coccyx it hurt real bad in the saddle, but it didn't keep me from riding. What made it tolerable for me was keeping my feet on the hiway pegs and pushing real hard back into my new riders backrest.
ice, ice it 3-4 times a day, get a gel ice pack, 20 minutes on, alternate with heat about an hour later. thats the best recommendation, it really helps a lot.....a couple of days like that and some advil and you should be much better! good luck. Ted

Yeah, that sounds great if I had any time in my crazy a** schedule...and the patience to try and attach a flippin ice bag to my ****...ha.
Thanks...you are so right, that would help for sure.
It will probably look kinda tacky, and might raise you up in the seat too much, but as a last resort you could try one of those inflatable donuts for hemorrhoid sufferers. You used to be able to pick them up at most any drugstore. I bruised my tailbone real bad once and it was months before I could sit down without any discomfort.
