I will try again. I took the upper nose piece off that holds the lowers to top of the engine guard. I then could move the lower away from the engine guard at the top. But I still couldn't see how to get the vents out.

You have to remove the storage pockets after the noise piece.

Correct. They dan be seen after the "nose cone" is removed. Torx screws. I did mine.
Sort of a pain in the butt. I don't think it helps engine cooling much but you do get more air on your legs.
