I'm running 2 1/2" performance baffles and want to change to 2 1/4". I bought a pair from Dennis Kirk and installed them. They were like straight pipes. I took them off and figured out that without the plate that was welded in my 2 1/2", the exhaust gasses were just going straight through. I've looked at Rinehart's website and they show the same ones without the plate. So here's my question, is there another piece to be purchased. Below are the ones I bought and the second is a picture of what I already had.
Why does the 2 1/2" have the plate and not the noise reducing 2 1/4"?
I don't want to cut the plates off and weld them into the smaller ones in case they aren't what I'm looking for.
