Default Partial Stage One?

I want to keep my stock pipes. I like them, but I know these bikes run lean from the factory (2007 Road King) so I'd like some ideas on what you'd recommend to enrich the fuel and make the bike run better without changing out the stock pipes? Thanks!

Try a Vance and Hines FuelPak. They have a fill in the blank menu on their website where you can list your bike's setup and program it accordingly. They can be set to almost any configuration, such as air flow, pipes, etc, for some or all of the above. A big plus is your baby will run much cooler once the fuel/air ratio has been changed (richer)!!

+1 on the FuelPak

I ran a fuelpak last summer, and my bike loved it. The fuelpak doesn't get much love on this forum, mostly because you can't dyno tune it, the support for different cams is minimal, and there's no provision for timing changes. However, for most stage I bikes, it works just fine. When I swapped cams in my bike, I changed out to a PCV with autotune this summer, and had all kinds of trouble getting the autotune to work properly. I finally had to change exhaust, which I wasn't planning on doing, and didn't budget for. I also found out that the support for different cams for my bike was as minimal as it was with the fuelpak, so I had a pretty lousy experience changing over to the Power Commander.

For the 07 RK's, you can frequently find used fuelpaks for sale in the classifieds. You can expect to spend about 100-125 bucks if you can snag one off the classifieds. They bring a little more on ebay.

I am not sure that the fuelpak can be setup for stock exhaust. I called the company up a year ago to get a setting for V&H mufflers with stock air cleaner and they said they did not have a program for that and it would run too rich. I ended up putting on the SE A/C. Might call them first to check. However, my fuelpak works great with my muffler/SE AC setup.

You should be ok with what you have. If you don't change the mufflers, your ECM will adjust for A/F change. If you want to enrichen the AFR and don't want to spend a lot, go to tuneyourharler.com and read about XIED's. I've been running them on my 08 UC about 6 months. Bike runs great! I bought a set of FL-XIED's for my wifes 2010 SG Trike. We are both running Jackpot mufflers and Stage 1 AF.

I tried the partial just two months ago, I went with the PCV and it helped some, but last week I went ahead and did the complete stage one, that really made the difference. Much better power and in my opinion cooler after the complete stage one. Bite the bullet and go the distance. It is cheaper (at least from Fuel moto) to do at one time than in parts. JMO

I'm running stock mufflers, SE/AC and a PCV from Fuel Moto. They had a map for my setup and the bike, an '04 Road King, runs great.
