Take it off, take it off!!! I mean, remove the thing, makes the floorboards much nicer..My 12's had about 1/4 inch total travel on the floorboards and that wasn't comfortable after about 10 minutes on the road...Maybe I need smaller boots??
I've heard more people say they hate the heel shifter but I use mine all the time. Always stomping, rather I am downshifting or upshifting. When you upshift with the heel you're not going to miss a gear. Jusr My .02
I have to agree with DCHoran...the heel shifter can be a safety issue. After getting hung up on mine a few times off it went. On went the E-Z Brake extended shifter and spline cap. Used a Kuryakyn oversized peg and I got a system that can't be beat!
