I tried mine out when first purchased and was amazed it worked as well as it did. It let me know when I was on reserve, then switched to the remaining mileage. It worked perfectly although remaining mileage was a little less then originally indicate. Don't like to press my luck and usually look to refuel when it gets between 1/4 and 1/2. Getting off feels good as a side benefit.

Had you rather the light come on when you're almost out of fuel? I like it coming on with a gallon left. If you know about how many MPG you get it should be fairly easy to estimate how far you can go after the light comes on. I've actually stopped for fuel within a mile after the light comes on and put 4.6 to 5.2 gallons in the tank. It also depends on how full you get the tank.
