You can't control your iPod throught the Aux input..You'll need a USB type input if your radio claims it's iPod compatable than you should have a USB input somewhere as well..As far as iPod to PC transfers there is all kinds of software out there just do a google search for it..I used 1 from ipodpctransfer.com it worked great and saved playlists as well..
Correct.. The IPod nano would be connected to the front USB port. My Sony MP3 player is connected at the AUX plug-in. I will search for some transfer files. Thanks...
Seeing if anyone uses an IPod thru their stereo. What I'm looking for in particular is tuning info. I have a Kenwood deck that supports IPod functions and am wondering if the handlebar audio controls allow song changing thru the controls? I know my Sony MP3 player can't do this thru my Aux input. It would be kinda nice to thumb thru songs if the mood strikes. Also, can songs from a MP3 player be transferred over to the IPod as a lot of my tunes were cleaned out of my computer awhile back. Thanks for any info ...
I have a kenwood head unit with USB IPOD interface. on mine, left handlebar switch controls vol up/down, and pause off/on. right switch controls input (cd-am-fm-ipod, etc) and song scroll up/down. I can search playlists, etc using the radio ****. I can program my head unit so I either use the ipod controls or set it to control it from the radio.

I have my IPOD Classic 120gb in the tourpack. It is controlled through the handlebar controls, via my Kenwood KVT DVD head unit. AWESOME for watching music videos, coupled with the Biketronics kit !!
On this set-up, you can control all of the features on the " touch screen " also !!
your kenwood manual should let you know whatcan be controlled via a remote I assume you are using a biketronics kit or hawg wired for the radio interface but you should be able to control tracks up and down for more you may have to use the radio itself

The local audio shop installed the stereo for me. I am using the steering wheel interface thru my factory audio controls. I am thinking the left will control volume and right will control song up/down and modes. That will be just fine by me as my aux input/mp3 only has volume control.
Yes you are correct on your statement the right should also change your source on the radio. enjoy you new audio system now and maybe in the future a amp and speakers for more audio enjoyment
