Ebay did tell me that if they did not reply to me within 48 hours I can file a dispute with them. This could result in them being removed from Ebay. I don't want to go that route, just want to know what happened, and why no explanation. I was going to gut the cat on this one and keep mine in case I need it for future issues. I guess I will just get on the list with Fuelmoto when I get a little more cash set back.
You may never find out why money was refunded. Like previous poster suggested they may have been contacted and offered more, and decided to go that route. The fact is, if pressed by E-bay for a reason, they need only provide any number of legitimate reasons. The item is no longer available because, item was sold in private sale locally, the item was stolen from garage (personal experience), the item was damaged or destroyed in any number of ways, the item can't be found for whatever reason. None of these need be true, E-bay or Pay-Pal (same company now BTW) won't ask for any kind of proof. They will only be concerned or take action if funds are not refunded. The seller may not even respond to their inquiry. As far as your money is concerned, Pay-Pal shows a balance and it can be used to make a purchase NOW. You just can't withdraw or transfer funds until transaction clears with your bank or credit card. I have done this several times when a vendor has said item is out of stock and won't be restocked for a month or something. The original transaction between your bank or credit card and Pay-Pal is still pending, even now. That transaction will eventually show on your bank or credit card statement, regardless. The balance Pay-Pal shows can be used for a purchase now or later, in part or the full amount or even for more than that balance amount, in which case the difference in a separate transaction will appear on your statement. This is first hand knowledge and I've done it many times. You can wait if you like, or try for another set of pipes. Sorry for your missing a good deal but it happens, not all sellers are like that and will at least offer a reason, true or not. The truth is, if funds are refunded nobody really cares why, except you that is. Me too, if situations were reversed. Hope this helps, at least now you know you don't have to wait to spend money you already spent.
File a dispute with paypal, they will get you an answer. I have done it several times. I was sold a fake taylormade driver one time, they got my money back and shipping.
Ditto, move on and be happy you got your cash back. Some of you may remember the ***-clown that shipped me cams in a padded envelope. I went straight to paypal and filed a dispute. Took a week or so but they ended up refunding my money. Perfectly good cams gone to waste. 70 bucks more for cams through chicago HD, plus the shipping I ate to send them back to him. Done venting. Pissed me off more than anything.
File a complaint with both eBay and PayPal. It doesn't matter why, they lied . You got your money back, move on.
One time I had a seller not ship me my item and would never return an email. It took a while but I got my money back. File a complaint.

that's why i trust the forum classifieds section much more than i would ebay. at least as a member in the forum you have a reputation to uphold, and there seems to be much more of an honor system/comraderie, if that's how it's spelled. i've not heard of scams or getting ripped off in the classifieds section of the forum, although i'm sure it's happened before. i hope you get this issue resolved.
