2010 and Warranty
Now I am A ford technician and I work on all my stuff, But since the bike is under warranty
and yes If I install pipes power commander and air cleaner it technically voids warranty.
But the chances of one of these causing a problem are slim.
So how may have done these changes under warranty, and not done by Stealer!!!!
Check out The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (P.L. 93-637),( what RoadKingDave is talking about ), a manufacture can restrict paying a warranty claim if the aftermarket item is the cause of the warranty concern.
But there is no such a thing a Voiding a complete warranty, but there are complete vehicle restrictions such as an insurance loose like a car under water or in a totaling crash were the car somehow remains on the road by was of a branded title.
The power commander would be one item that they could blame for a lot of things, I was thinking about using the SERT instead, HD product that they would more likely stand behind.
For what it's worth, I had a 07 Ultra that blew an engine , I had a Tundermax tuner on it and the dealer could not blame it for a hydroliced engine that spit out all the oil and other parts. I took over 2 months to get repaired but all under warranty. I put it all back stock and when the Limited came out I traded it in.
Oh, and anoher thing , read the ACT, what I found as funny was that the dealer gave me the most greef about using the Amsoil in my engine than anything else, tried to blame that as the cause, believe it or not.
