We all heard rumors on Harley warrantys Not warranting because of after market pipe, head pipes, tuners thinks we like . But how many people have actually had their warranty denied? Or knows someone who has ? My dealer said they would install after market head pipes no cats and use a diff tuner and warranty the engine but also said it would take 7 hours of dyna time ... wow

Get it in writing. The EPA decree is quite clear, that any non EPA compliant equipment or tuning violates the warranty.

Been there and done that. Power Train Warranty Gone. Dealer did step up. Still not worth it.

You can't pin this on HD . Election have consequences EPA had their power increased and no limits on them last two. Put this on the EPA.
Dealer can tell anything and They would likely stand by their work, but no other dealer would. Is it worth it IMO no. M8 runs pretty darn good right off the floor.

These dealers will tell you anything to generate business. They may stand behind their work but have a break down miles away from the dealer and the next will plug it into the computer and bye bye warranty

you just have to be concerned with the long term effects of the super lean condition and the extreme heat from the cats on the long term effects. I guess the twin cooled engines
would be safer but air cooled motors. If you don't keep your bike long then it doesn't really matter but what about the guys who keep their bikes

Every single dealer says no problem. "As long as you bring it back here"

I have seen the effects of valves and pistons on race hot rod engines after they were ran
too lean. Not a pretty sight

Building on my previous reply. The dealer still has to get the warranty re-imbursement from the mother ship. Will the desler about modifications, and put their franchise license at risk? I think not. The warranty exclusion in the owner's manual is quite clear, make any non EPA modifications, and you're warranty is voided.

If you want to void your warranty...go ahead.

For those of you on the "lean" will kill your motor kick. The TCs have millions if not billions of miles on them with the same lean tune as the M8, and I have never heard of lean related damage.

Just the same, after my warranty expired, off with the cat, and on with a richer tune.
