I’m looking for some advice. I have a 07 ultra and the 1k is coming due in a few hundred miles. I’m thinking of doing it myself and save 250bucks. Is there anything to this service other than changing fluids? I going to get a service manual or shop manual, not sure if they are the same. I’m fairly handy and have changed the oils in all my previous metric bikes.
any help or tips would be greatly appreciated
There is a bunch of other stuff than changing fluids....
Steering fall-away, lube the steering stem, clutch adjustment, cable lube, re-torquing of the critical fasteners, brake fluid inspection and validation of levels, wheel/tire inspection, monitoring of engine parameters, adjustment of headlamps.....
There is a section in the service manual that is a chart, and it shows what needs done and at what intervals....
There are some special tools that you will need, and 1 that must be hand made (Steering Stem adjustment)....
