hd high vis for me no com[plaints good into the mid 70"s after that a good rain feels nice to cool off any way,had it for 5 years seems every long tripp i do i spend at least 3 days in the rain no problems yet no melting either.
I agree with Frog! Gore-tex plane and simple!! By the time you have to buy 3-4 sets of the cheaper stuff, you'll have more than paid for the gore-tex.
I too have had mine for a few years now and it doesn't show any signs of leakage. Gore-tex does a pretty good job of turning the cold winds also. Just buy it large enough to get a sweater or sweatshirt under it.
For comparison, While stationed in Germany, I bought the Army's 'newest' rain suit (Gore-tex). I think I wore the jacket almost every day I was there!! I still have it though I've 'out grown' it, but it still repells the rain (wife uses it around the yard) .

I used an old wind breaker that was water proof, and a pair of wind pants that where also water proof, for my birthday my son gave me a set of rain gear from Leatherup.com, they are great, made heavy, they do take up a lot of space but I strap them on the bike, not in the saddle bags, and the price is right.

I'm using Rain Rider 2 piece that I bought in 1983.It's not high tech, but it keeps me dry when some of my buddies are getting wet in their expensive new gear. The only problem is that I expect that it is gonna blow off me some day that i'm riding down the highway in a rainstorm doing 60 mph.I'll be left with nothing but the sleeves.

Went on a ride to yellowstone last year, my son bought a jogging suit from Walmart, he was proud of that suit, it only cost him $20.00, on the way I kept seeing black plastic peices blowing in the wind, then I seen his suit flapping and coming apart, laughed so hard I thought I was going to have to pull over, rode up, told him to pull into the rest stop, gave him my extra set of some simlar to frog toggs, then told him "I guess they never intended on any one jogging at 70 MPH.
