Default Shoulder "Burn"

Have an 07' Ultra Classic, long rides of over 200 miles bad pain in my shoulder/neck. I have read other threads about new bars, my question is what about the risers I see in JP cycle that states will bring bar reach back up to 2"? I have done a seat gel insert, and a backrest.

Just had big bore and new cams put in so cash is tight for awhile, and new bars cables etc. seem $$$$.

Opinions?

Risers would be cheaper and easier than a bar swap with a decent chance of solving your issue.

I had the same problems with the stock RK bars and swapped them for a set of Heritage bars. The new bars aren't perfect but are much, much better than the old bars.

If you find a way to change the risers on an Ultra, I want to know about it.

Was told my a reliable source there is not enough room under fairing for risers on Ultra, that a bar and cable switch is necessary.....ugh!

Had the shoulder "burn" when I got back from a trip out west in 2008. Over 4,000 miles. Swapped out my bars for Wild1's. WO575. Solved the problem. 2inches up, 2inches back, from stock.

try a back rest, it takes alot of the strain off of your arms and shoulders.

+1 for sure. And, Khromewerks +2 sweepers or similar pullback bars.

I swear the bars the put on these at the factory are spec'd for orangutans, not humans.

The sweeper bars are very inexpensive and you can put them on yourself. You'll need a longer clutch cable.

How much trouble is it to change a set of bars? I went to the Dealer yesterday where I bought my wifes 2010 SG Trike. She is having the same pain you guy's are talking about in her shoulder and between her shoulder blades. The service guy said the bars are 149.95 and four hrs to put them on. with tax, close to 500.00 seems a little steep to me. What's invoved in changing them out assuming you won't need a clutch cable?
