Hey guys,..I just got my new streetglide,...I was thinking,.."How long does the battery last if u dont use the bike for a while,..20 days?...15? ...Id like to hear what you think..In my n2005 night train if i don tuse the bike at least every 15 20 days,,the battery dies!!
I replace a battery every 5 years know of some lasting longer but not gonna risk it is cheap insuranc getting a new one .. Yes a tender is a smart idea to use and have ..
My 2010 SG sat for about 2 months pretty quickly after I got it. (Bought it in Jan) and only home on weekends. Seemed every weekend I got home it was really crappy weather until after the middle of March. I got a few miles on it, but not many. I know it sat for 45 days for sure. The battery should last WAY more than 15-20 days sitting for sure.. WAY more than that. Unless you have a slow draw for some reason....
Yep a tender is a great idea,,BUT i live on an apartment and i have no where to plug it in when the bike is in the garage,,Ill figure it out how to use one,..but thats why i asked you meanwhile to have an idea..How long do you think it lasts??,..

See my post above,,, a NEW Bike should last easily 2 months and still start I bet.... now when the bike is 4 years or more old,, and if it's SUPER HOT out, or COLD,, it will lessen I am sure. (Many do not realize that HOT is harder on batteries than cold really) Batteries out in AZ do not last as long as in the midwest from what I hear.... car or bike.
My 2009 RoadKing sat between Dec 2, 2009 and Feb 8, 2010 (a little over 2 months). I did not have a battery tender, and she fired right up. Oh - I also removed the main curcuit breaker so the security system wasn't drawing on the battery
Of course, the bike was essentially brand new and I intend to use a battery tender this coming winter.
