We seem to do this the opposite of most. I have the wife get on the bike first with the stand down. She just puts her leg over, sits back up on the passenger seat and then I get on in front of her. because of the tour pack, I can't just throw my leg over anyway, so it does make a difference to me if there is already a passenger on or not when I get on, but it makes it easier for her and she doesn't have to try and stand up on the passenger floorboard to get on.

Not a dumb question at all, I've been experimenting with the same dilemma.

It's easier for my wife if we do it this way. That way she's not accidentally kicking the toupak either.

Ever see the Lone Ranger mount-up on Silver? I have her get a running start from behind, place her hands on the backrest and vault into the rear seat...

Hi-ho Silver...away!

Sheesh - whatever your technique, just be sure you have a way to give the go-ahead and you're ready for her to get on.

Guys - I'm proud of you... not one wise-a$$ed remark. Just good solid advice via your experience(s). Way to go. Nice to see the real talent.

Thanks for a good read.

This is how I have my passengers get on also. Stand down always. I had a near ugly mount in front of nearly two hundred bikers once and after I saved it an old biker walked over and recommended I have the stand down that way I’m no embarrassed again. It was a very good learning experience for me.

My wife always ask's if I'm ready, then she jumps on.

When she puts her full weight on the left floor board,it barely moves me off-center if I'm ready.

When it comes to questions, the only time you should fill stupid is if you don't ask
