This is the way we do it too. May I also add is to make sure the stand is on solid ground.

My wife almost dumped us ONCE by getting on without asking if I was ready. She didn't know that I had to have my feet planted and ready for her to get on. It only happened that once and she now knows to make sure that I have full control of the bike and I'm ready for her to get on.

Ride safe!

No question is stupid, if you knew the answer you would not be asking. For the wife and I,found it to be very easy with straddling the bike standing kickstand up,she steps on her footboard swings her leg over backrest and bags then plops down. She always lets me know when she is ready so I can steady the bike.

My wife steps up on the left floorboard and steps through between me and her backrest. Same procedure on or off the stand. She's even got on with the bike with it on the stand without me on.
If your on the bike, off the stand, just make sure she lets you know she's about to get on so your ready for it.

I have lots of different passengers this summer (some tall, some short) and this works for me. I have them put their left hand on my shoulder and ask "ready?" For dismount I have them wait until I am on the Jiffy stand.

I know......getting on I am upright, dismount I am on the Jiffy stand but this is what works for me.

Yeah, we also bassackwards this too. I pull up, shut off bike, put the stand down and get off. Then she gets off.

There is a wrong way - it's when you dump the bike. All other ways are right. Work out what works for you and do that. The only advice I'd offer is that if you work as a team and communicate clearly you'll have less problems.

Personally I sit the bike upright, engine running, front brake on, jiffy stand up. Wife gets on from the left, standing on the footboard and swings her leg over the tourpak. If she's done it right she's facing forwards.
