perhaps it's moderator envy. They couldn't make it as a mod or were never asked to be a mod. Now these wannabe mods go around forum to forum telling people to use the search feature, which imo, most often doesn't produce the results I want. I've used the search feature myself on many forums and after weeding through page after page, seldom do I ever find what I'm looking for.
Ive been wondering if the search police are also the Maintenance Manual police. You know the guys who won't give any advice about working your bike until you certify that you forked out the 60 bucks for the manual. And then their advice is different from the manual.
What this forum really needs is an expanded FAQ section. Topics such as seats, oil, jacks, etc. have been discussed many times. If we had a FAQ section that covered those areas, it might just cut down on the "what type of seat is the most comfortable" questions.
I generally don't tell people to use the search button, but I sometimes cringe when I see yet another post on a topic that has been discussed at least twice a month for the last year.

I agree that FAQ would be nice, but I would like to ask what a forum is for if members don't like repeated discussions? I think most here like to hang around because we all share a common passion. We can skip any discussion that isn't interesting to us. Search is nice, but sometimes we just want to talk about our bikes and start a subject just to get a discussion going.
I try to use the search feature when possible, but often end up with 'results' that have absolutely nothing to do with the answer I'm looking for. Or, the information that does come up is so old, starting a new thread is the only way to get 'more current', or up to date responses.
