Does Jims bike have tons of add on brake lights all over the back robbing some
power from the Batt.?
I don't know, just a guess...
Does the Volt meter also drop when applying the brakes?

Thanks Dawg, you really did start a thread.

This has happened since new on my '08 EGC with ABS. When idling it shakes like normal but when I apply either brake it gets even rougher and shakes harder. Maybe everyone's bike does it but I'm curious as to why. Maybe it has to do with the ABS. With the SE 255 cams it naturally idles rougher than stock but really gives it hell with the brake on.

I have the Tour Pak spoiler with LED lights but it has done this since long before I added the LED.

When you are idling with the brake off,the front wheel is actually moving back and forth a bit, absorbing some of the vibration of the motor. When you put on the brake, the wheel is now unable to move and the vibration is transfered through the bike and rider.
I probably have no idea what i'm talking about.
Dan.

Try pulling the fuse for the ABS and then hit the brakes. Same problem it is not in the ABS. Then try the brake light fuse hope that helps you narrow down what circut is causing the problem.

You might not know what you're talking about but it's the only opinion so far. You might be on to something.

Thanks,
Jim

Lean over and watch the fork and front wheel with and without the front brake applied, you can see the difference.
