My 09 has 37.7 and haven't changed it yet.....probably at 50k....Just curious have you changed the folk oil yet? HD says at 50k....I do mine every 20K.
Not the case, did not pay anything, just asked about it needing to be changed
The Service manual says to change it. I have Prepaid service included with the purchase price for the first 30,000 miles/3 years. They had better change it.
So this prepaid service covers all parts and labor per the maintenance schedule?
Yes. All scheduled maintenance is performed. I have been using Synthetic oil from the first oil change. Some service contracts can cover the tires too, but I didn't feel it was worth it. I would need to be home when I needed a tire. I ride around a lot and sometimes I am not at home. And I am already looking to go to a different tire from the stock Dunlop tires.
For service, I can ride to the Dealership. Or if I am busy and can't ride it in, (I did this once. Took to much time away from riding.) I call and schedule an appointment. They will come to my house and pick it up. They take it to the shop and perform the scheduled maintenance. When finished, the wash and fill the gas tank and return it to my house. They wash and refuel no mater if they pick it up, or I bring it in.

No Cam ring needed, I used a brass drift and tapped it with a hammer on the tabs and she pops right off. Make sure you cover the tank and have a good grip, you do not want to scratch /dent the tank cause you got in a hurry.
Preventive maintenance is a big part of any industrial concern, why should a bike be different although the derived statistics may also include a marketing function that industry does not. Also, dont forget if not done, you may just let the Moco out of a warranty claim later down the road.
You have to be careful because most dealers charge a flat rate for service whether they do everything in the service or not. Being in parts, I rarely pick a fuel filter for the techs so....draw your own conclusions.
