Default 15,100 on Dunlop 407 rear tire so far

I've got 15,100 on my original Dunlop 407 rear tire so far. Seems to be wearing perfectly and still have at least 4 to 5/32 tread left. I might get 17k or more on it. I'm happy with this tire. On the other side, my front 407 lasted around 12,000 miles before it started to cup and then was replaced under warranty. At least the rear is getting high mileage, which is good since it costs alot of money. In case you are wondering, I keep 41 psi in the rear tire and I ride solo and weigh 200 with about 10 pounds of gear.

That's just about right. Had 15,800 miles on my rear tire as I paid for a new one and 12,500 miles on the front as MOCO replaced it under warranty. Always 40 PSI in both tires as I weigh 275 lbs and ride 2-Up most of the time. Now I've got 408's.

I have gotten over 15k on my fat boy and SG. But you have to ask yourself, am I starting to see the air in the tire when I look at it?

That's good to know...

I just bought a set of '10 SESG wheels with 8k on tires and I was contemplating changing the tires... Now, I am glad I did not.

I have 17,500 on the 407 rear and had 16,000 on the front when I replaced it. I'll replace the rear tire at the end of the summer but right now I have 5/32 on it.

Depending upon your riding style and habits, you no doubt are going to get alot more mileage out of that rear tire, I changed my rear 407 about 4 months ago at 25,011 miles. I weight 165 lbs and ride one up most of the time. In 47 years of riding I have never seen a rear motorcycle tire get anywhere near that kind of mileage. There is alot to be said for that dual-compound tire. Granted, it is an expensive tire but I would not even consider anything else as a replacement. In the past, 8-10k was about the max for a rear tire of any brand.

I've got 16.5k on my original dunlops. They are still going strong. I think the front is cupping (if I understand cupping correctly), but I don't notice any negative affects so I'm just going with it.
